The Edmonton Oiler's Hockey School is pleased to announce that they are once again holding a one week camp in Fort McMurray in August. Regular Skaters and Goalie programs are available for 7-12 year olds. In addition a new camp has been added for 11-12 year olds playing or entering in to contact hockey. The Battle and Compete camp will focus on how to win one on one battles for pucks and position in a safe respectful manner. These are full day camps and a great opportunity to improve your skills and prepare for the upcoming hockey season. The dates for the Oilers Hockey School in Fort McMurray are August 12 –17th. Skywonder apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause and they are working with their suppliers to have this resolved ASAP.

Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association and the Wood Buffalo Hockey League will be offering a Skills & Development Clinic that will run for 8 sessions starting November 26, 2011 that is open to Novice, Atom, Peewee, and Bantam aged players.

The Clinic is designed to work on player’s individual skills in a group setting to help them improve as hockey players. The clinic will incorporate Hockey Canada Skills Development program drills and exercises in conjunction with utilizing local coaches with significant experience at many different levels of hockey. The clinics will not interfere with team practices or games that are part of the WBHL, although participants may have team practice or game on the same day of the clinics.

The cost of the program will be $100 for all eight sessions; no individual or portion of the Clinic will be available to sign up for.

MacDonald Island Park introduces No School Hockey Friday

What: is offering the No School Hockey Friday program this Fall.

The program will offer participants an opportunity to experience the full spectrum in hockey and fitness training. Designed for youths aged 8-12 years, the multi-sport day camp with a hockey focus will encompass on-ice and dry-land hockey and fitness instruction, aquatic sports, and ball sports such as soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Lunch will be provided.

Fort McMurray Oil Barons assistant coach Tom Keca will instruct the morning hockey skills session, while an afternoon skate will be 3-on-3 format on the mini ice. $85.00+GST per day camp.

When: October 21, November 25, and December 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
