UPDATED SCHEDULE
The Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association is hosting a Hockey Canada Coach Level Clinic on Saturday 12 December followed by the Hockey Canada Checking Clinics on Sunday 13 December. Details on the clinics are as follows: Coach Level Clinic 12 December 2009 – 8 AM to 6 PM Frank Lacroix Arena – Multi-Purpose Room Cost: Free for FMMHA Members Attendees: Attendees: All coaches and assistant coaches who do not have the Coach Level Certification. This clinic also includes the Speak Out certification which is required by at least one member of the coaching staff on every team. Parents are also invited to attend the clinic and become certified, especially if they intent to coach or help coach a team in the future.
Participation in the clinic is strongly encouraged and may be necessary if your team intends to travel to a tournament later this season. According to Hockey Canada regulations, at least one member of the coaching staff must be certified with the Speak Out clinic (which is included in the coach level clinic). Failure to meet this requirement may prevent your team from obtaining a travel permit or play in an out-of-town tournament. Checking Clinic 13 December 2009 – 8 AM to 3 PM

Attendees: All Atom, Peewee and Bantam coaches who do not have the Checking Clinic Certification. Other coaches are also invited to attend. Parents are also invited to attend the clinic and become certified, especially if they intent to coach or help coach a team in the future
Effective immediately, any travel permit requests for tournament must indicate the coaching certification level of team officials and which officials have the speak-out certification.
Furthermore, certification and qualification will be important selection criteria in the selection of coaches in future years. You owe it to your players and to yourself to become qualified and certified.
The Association will arrange for replacement coaches to run your practices or coach your team on December 12 & 13 if you are taking the clinic. Please register for the clinic before December 5 by sending an e-mail to your Division Director with a carbon copy (CC) to the Minor Hockey Office (fmmha@telus.net) to allow for the ordering and delivery of manuals.
