
Rep Hockey Division Director
The JOB Division Director is responsible for the coordination, communication, and overall support of teams within the Junior Oil Barons or Huskies division. This includes assisting with team operations, managing evaluations, supporting coaches, and ensuring compliance with FMMHA policies and league requirements. This leadership role acts as the primary liaison between families, coaching staff, and the FMMHA Executive.
For the 2024–2025 season, the JOB Division Director role will be split into two positions—one for AA/AAA(Elite) and one for A/B (Tiered)—to better serve the growing program. Both directors will collaborate closely with each other, the Huskies Program Director, and the VP of Rep Hockey Operations. U13 AA Huskies will remain in the Huskies division.

Skills and Qualities
The ideal nominee will possess the following:

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Demonstrates diplomacy, negotiation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

FMMHA Operational Knowledge – Has prior experience on an FMMHA operating committee and/or significant coaching or team management experience within the association.

Excellent Time Management – Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing a high volume of responsibilities, particularly during evaluations and season start-up.

Flexibility and Responsiveness – Willing and able to respond promptly to questions, concerns, and time-sensitive issues, especially during the tryout process.

Facilitation and Leadership Abilities – Confident in leading meetings and discussions with large groups of coaches, parents, and volunteers.

Technical Proficiency – Comfortable using essential digital tools including Gmail, Google Docs, SurveyMonkey, SignUpGenius, social media platforms, and TeamSnap.
Key Responsibilities:
Communication & Representation:
- Act as the main point of contact for all teams in the Division.
- Manage communication via the website, email, and social media (e.g., Facebook).
- Represent the division at league meetings and liaise with tournament directors to resolve scheduling or participation issues.
Evaluations & Player Placement:
- Coordinate and chair the JOB player selection process.
- Secure independent evaluators as needed and facilitate evaluation meetings.
- Collaborate with the Development Committee to arrange specialized player development.
Ice & Scheduling:
- Ensure fair distribution of game and practice ice.
- Work closely with the Ice Allocator to resolve scheduling conflicts.
Team & League Operations:
- Facilitate Hockey Alberta playdowns hosted by FMMHA.
- Work with VP Rep on approval for player affiliations and submit Hockey Canada team rosters.
- Attend conflict resolution matters and participate in incident investigations when requested by the League Governor.
Coaching & Program Support:
- Serve as the liaison between coaching staff and the leagues.
- Support communication between parents, coaches, and the Executive.
- Coordinate the preseason coach kick-off event.
- Define and maintain the content of the JOB webpage.
