
Director, Grants
The Grant Director plays a key role in identifying and securing external funding opportunities to support the programs, facilities, and overall mission of Fort McMurray Minor Hockey Association (FMMHA). This is a newly created position designed to help FMMHA explore untapped funding avenues and develop sustainable practices around grant acquisition and management.

Skills & Experience (Preferred but not required):
- Experience with grant writing, fundraising, or project coordination
- Strong organizational and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple committees and leadership groups
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
This role will evolve and be refined in collaboration with the individual selected, providing an exciting opportunity to shape a critical area of development within FMMHA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Recommend Grants:
Actively research available grants from government bodies, sporting agencies, and other organizations. Evaluate and recommend opportunities that align with the needs and priorities of FMMHA. - Develop Grant Processes:
Establish and document a standardized grant application and management process, including timelines, reporting requirements, and close-out procedures to ensure transparency and compliance. - Support Facilities Grant Applications:
Collaborate with the Arena Manager to identify and support grant applications related to arena and facility upgrades, maintenance, and improvements. - Ensure Compliance with Grant Commitments:
Monitor and track grant obligations, ensuring all deliverables, reports, and funding conditions are met in a timely manner.
- Collaborate Across Committees:
Work closely with the Executive Board, Special Events Committee, and both Rep and WBHL Operations Committees to align grant applications with FMMHA’s strategic priorities and programming needs.
