Officials Program Director

The Officials Program Director is responsible for supporting the growth, visibility, and day-to-day coordination of the FMMHA Officials Program. Reporting directly to the Referee-in-Chief, this role serves as a key liaison between officials, parents, division directors, and the referee leadership team to ensure a well-rounded, transparent, and supportive environment for officials of all levels.

Skills and Qualities

The ideal nominee will possess the following:

  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Demonstrates diplomacy, negotiation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • FMMHA Operational Knowledge – Has prior experience on an FMMHA operating committee and/or significant coaching, team management or Officiating experience within the association.

  • Excellent Time Management – Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing a high volume of responsibilities, particularly during evaluations and season start-up.

  • Flexibility and Responsiveness – Willing and able to respond promptly to questions, concerns, and time-sensitive issues, especially during the tryout process.

  • Facilitation and Leadership Abilities – Confident in leading meetings and discussions with large groups of coaches, parents, and volunteers.

  • Technical Proficiency – Comfortable using essential digital tools including Gmail, Google Docs, SurveyMonkey, SignUpGenius, social media platforms, and TeamSnap and Arbiter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the Officials Program webpage and manage the Officials Program Facebook page to share resources, updates, and recognition.
  • Coordinate official evaluations in collaboration with the Referee-in-Chief and senior mentors.
  • Serve as communication between younger officials families and  to support clear communication around development, program expectations, and needs.
  • Act as a liaison between:
    • Senior Officials and Division Directors
    • Parents and the Referee-in-Chief
  • Organize photo day and coordinate team-building and recognition events for officials.
  • Support scheduling and administrative tools including Arbiter, RAMP, and TeamSnap to ensure accuracy and ease of use.
  • Assist in promoting and delivering development opportunities for officials, enhancing communication, visibility, and community engagement.
  • Reports to the Referee-in-Chief, Serves on the officials Committee.
