Mark Nolan Memorial Scholarship

Mark Nolan Scholarship - Provided by Marks parents

Mark,  pictured with his teammate,  proudly displays the universal "we are number one"  symbol after winning the Peewee International Tournament.

"When I am gone, remember me with smiles and laughter as that is how I will remember you."

The Mark Nolan Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 by the past president of FMMHA, with a generous donation from Mark's family in his memory. This scholarship aims to recognize the accomplishments of graduating U18 Fort McMurray Minor Hockey players.

Who Was Mark Nolan?

Mark William Nolan was born on June 9, 1982, and was raised in Fort McMurray. Tragically, Mark's life was taken on October 25, 2005, due to an on-site accident at his workplace. At the time, he was an apprentice Crane Operator.

Mark was a passionate athlete, excelling in hockey, soccer, and golf. As part of Fort McMurray’s minor hockey team, he had the honor of representing the community at the Peewee International Tournament in Quebec City, where the team proudly brought home the championship trophy in their division.

Mark's love for life was matched only by his love for his family, friends, and his dog, Shady. With his devilishly handsome grin, he always caught the attention of those around him. Mark lived life to the fullest, and his memory continues to inspire and uplift those who knew him.
