Junior Oil Barons Scholarship Policy

FMMHA and the Elite Jr. Oil Barons program believes that a local hockey program is an important community venture that develops many skills and attitudes that build essential character traits and habits that will enhance your future.

The 2020-21 season has been an exceptionally difficult year and while we are saddened that players did not get to shine like the bright stars that they are, we are hopeful that the 2 recipients of these $1000.00 scholarships will put it to good use towards your bright future.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Must be in their graduating year of U18 eligibility and be a player for either the U18AA or U18A team this year.
  • Must have demonstrated satisfactory attitude and effort in high school subjects.
  • Must have demonstrated an exceptional attitude and strong commitment on and off the ice to their team -  specifically in respect to sportsmanship, team play, attitude and dedication to the game.

Selection Procedure

Applicants must complete the application form in full and provide Three  reference letters in support of this application.

Panel will sellect recipients based on consideration of academic achievement, hockey dedication, commitment coachability.  and must be a last year midget graduate. The Scholarship awarded must be applied within one  year of its acceptance.
